" Contre-Courant "
Celebration CEL-1929, 1976 Original Issue 1st Pressing Canada.
Rare debut recording (of just 2 albums) from this obscure Montreal progressive band (their only release on vinyl) .......with founding members Olivier Duplessis (keyboards, synths), Luc Gauthier (guitars), Jean-Pierre Racicot (drums, percussion), Christian Racine (bass) and Serge Nolet (flutes).
An excellent cross somewhere between Quebec's-own Harmonium , Maneige and Sloche, with some obvious influences from the UK's Cantebury scene and bands like Caravan or Hatfield & The North.
Delicious melodies with soft yet incisive vocals and great flute passages .....all on 5 superb compositions by five superb musicians.
