" Contre Courrant "
Celebration CEL-1929, 1976 Original Issue 1st Pressing Canada.
Rare original vinyl pressing debut (of just 2 albums) from this obscure and short-lived Montreal progressive band (their only release on vinyl) .......with founding members Olivier Duplessis (keyboards, synths), Luc Gauthier (guitars), Jean-Pierre Racicot (drums, percussion), Christian Racine (bass) and Serge Nolet (flutes).
A superb symphonic prog gem that's fits in very nicely with Quebec's-own Harmonium and Maneige same-period output as well as the beautiful complexities of European bands like PFM or Atoll, yet this quintet clearly boasts it's own unique sound....superb piano-flute-guitar inter-play and delicious melodies.....with some obvious influences from the UK's Cantebury scene and specifically bands like Caravan or Hatfield & The North.
