A l’origine de ce projet, un chef de gare visionnaire qui propose à un groupe de musique de s’implanter dans le Buffet-Hôtel de la gare de Bamako pour divertir les clients de passage. Le Super Rail Band devient rapidement le symbole du renouveau culturel de tout un pays.
En quelques années, le succès du Super Rail Band va dépasser les frontières maliennes et faire parler de lui en Afrique de l’Ouest, devenant l’une des principales locomotives de l'afro-beat malien.
