Artist: ORCHESTRE REGIONAL DE KAYES
Title: “Orchestre Regional de Kayes - The Best of the First Biennale of Arts and Culture for the Young (1970)”
Label: BARENREITER MUSICAPHON. (German pressing). Monaural pressing on medium weight vinyl. Label is red/white with black text. Catalog number is BM 30 L 2604.
Year: 1970.
NOTE: This came from a large collection stored for many years by an individual associated with the radio station at a historically black university back in the mid 1970s-early 80s. Most appear to have been sampled once, or appear unplayed. Guaranteed to be original and not a modern repro. I will be listing additional albums from this collection in the coming weeks, so please check back for additional rare titles.
Condition:
DISC: Vinyl is gorgeous NM-, a beauty! The playing surface is immaculate, except a slight scuff along first 2 tracks of Side B. Disc has a high luster, was played a small number of times and handled with care. Plays beautifully with superb fidelity. Labels are clean and pristine.
JACKET: Flexible laminated jacket is nice VG++. Panels are clean and bright, with just a trace of ring wear on the reverse. Nice seams and spine. Corner tips have been bumped. No writing, splits, stickers, or cutout indications.
Overall a beautiful copy of this extremely rare release. Winning bidder will be very pleased.
