DESCRIPTION:  NORMAN GRANZ’ “JAZZ at the PHILHARMONIC. 12th TOUR”. Text by Ralph J. Gleason. Cover art by David Stone Martin. Stapled binding. Scarce original souvenir program of the 1952 national tour. First started in 1945, Granz’ tours were arguably one of the most important venues for the introduction and popularization of jazz music throughout the world. This program is heavily illustrated and includes large photos of Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Krupa and Oscar Peterson among many others. 20 pages plus illustrated covers. The program measures about 11” x 8 1/2”.

 

CONDITION: (Please see photos). The item is in Very Good to Near Fine condition. There is a bump to the top corner affecting the covers and inside pages. There is also extremely slight wear to the covers. The contents remain clean and unmarked. Still a really great copy of a scarce item.
