Description
Here is a RARE collectable lp from my collection offered up for sale: This is Tamla's / Motown's historic first compilation release "Tamla Special #1" album, released in 1961 TM-224 MONO. This is an original 1st pressing, has rigid old style vinyl with black, blue and white globe labels, This first pressing from 1961 features the young record label's new stars "The Miracles" (with Smokey Robinson) tracks include "Shop around",Depend on me, Who's loving you?, and "Way over there". PLUS the great Mary Wells with "Bye Bye baby" and "Please forgive me". Barrett Strong's contributes his classic "Money" (later covered by the Beatles). Plus Singin' Sammi & Sherri sing "Oh! Lover" (written by Smokey & Berry Gordy)and ""That's why I love you so much". These 1st press originals are getting SCARCE, this one is a very enjoyable listen!
The vinyl rates VG, nice gloss ~ has sleeve wear and one small 1/2" feelable scratch on side two, plays through without skips or jumps. Plays great from start to finish with deep clear sound and a few light background pops, no skips or jumps!
The vintage cover rates VG, nice looking front cover and photos on rear cover, a couple favorite songs circled in red on rear cover. Each seam is worn and partially split at center but still holding on. (see all 12 pictures)
Will be shipped in a plastic sleeve in a record mailing box with tracking. Vinyl will be shipped in sleeve outside cover to prevent cover splits.
