THE BYRDS LP DR. BYRDS & MR. HYDE (CBS Records 63545)
Original English mono pressing on the vintage burnt-orange CBS label. This 1969 UK printing has a slightly darker shade on the front & glossier lamination, so it looks a little different than the American release. Only a few mono pressings were made because they were only needed to send to AM radio stations which could not broadcast in stereo. What makes these such unusual artifacts is the mono mix gives a different sound.
Features Roger McGuinn. Album opens with Rick Danko & Bob Dylan's "This Wheel's On Fire" also popularized by The Band. Album closes with medley of "My Back Pages", "B.J. Blues" & Jimmy Reed's "Baby, What Do You Want Me to Do?" Produced by Bob Johnstone, who also did fine work with the Beach Boys.
DISC - NEAR MINT
No scratches, scuffs, streaks, skips, stains, pits, needle wear, warping or residue on the disc or dead wax. Nice surface gloss on disc surface. Album appears to have been stored upright in a safe way. (Stamped Matrix #: 63545 B1)
COVER - VERY GOOD PLUS
Cover has no ink marks or dirt marks, no seam splits, stains, writing, stickers, price tags or color fading. Unblemished spine is fully readable. Very slight ring wear, but no rubbing or speckles. Sharp print & rich rich color. Small amount of corner banging & two two-inch semi-creases on front. Cool orange label is perfect: Beautiful unfaded color tone. No marks, cuts, tears, writing or stickers. Sharp cut hole free of spindle scuffs and fraying.
