EXTREMELY RARE 1972 ORIGINAL book of lyrics, prayers and poems by ROKY ERICKSON

Book is titled: OPENERS - this is the legendary 1st Edition version from the 70s printed in Austin Texas by Pyramid Press

Book reads: OPENERS - Rev. Roger Roky Kynard Erickson

Lead singer and incredible harp player of The 13th Floor Elevators in the 60s - one of the greatest Psych bands of the 1st wave of rock Psychedelia!  Drenched in acid, Roky left Texas for the west coast and was so advanced that he cut a fast swath through San Francisco and LA hanging out with old friend Janis Joplin and making new friends with the likes of Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson.

Roky went through some rough days - this book is from his earliest solo period after the Elevators broke up and features much freeform poetry and wordplay. 

An Austin small press masterpiece - original printings are hard to find in clean condition.

70 Pages in mint condition with no writing, tears rips, markings or plates of any kind

Cover is also mint with Clean white cloth and immaculate gold embossing

 

ACTUAL PRINTED ORIGINAL BOOK from 1972 - NOT a copy - in very clean EXCELLENT MINT condition
