MINTY CLEAN VINYL
RARE '74 ORIGINAL "FROG " LABEL FIRST PRESS!!!
TOAD
DREAMS
\ ITAL ITALY - FROG - FRL 3600
SUPER RARE "CLEAN" Original 1974 first pressing vinyl that is easily the rarest TOAD album, goes for $$$ in collector circles when/if available ...was issued ONLY in Italy on the impossibly obscure FROG label...The dark cover did not hold up well and finding a clean cover and record is near impossible, here, a survivor!! ....The mighty TOAD includes the amazing Vic Vergeat who is a legendary fretboard guitar burner ...and Cosimo Lampis who pounded the drums for BRAINTICKET
Toad's final album, "Dreams" was full of potential but, sadly, got unfairly buried in the wake of bigger '70s acts like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. It's a shame, too, because much of what was there, was the best work of the band's career. Normally Toad brought in guest singers to helm the vocal duties, but Dreams found powerhouse guitarist Vittorio Vergeat (aka "Vic") on the mike for all of the album's tracks -- and the kid was pretty darn good. Why Vergeat was so keen on handing off the microphone to others is a mystery, since his reedy voice was tailor-made to sit perfectly in Toad's alternately heavy and pastoral arrangements. Just give opening track, the skull ripping "Keep on Movin'" a spin and you'll wonder why TOAD went without major fame until 30 to 40 years later. The rest of the band was in tip-top shape as well, delivering both the hard-rockin' tracks and the tuneful melodics with equal facility. Maybe not the finest power trio in rock history, but certainly worthy of more major recognition than just a loyal following in the high dollars range of collectors circles.
Vittorio "Vic" Vergeat - guitar, vocals, piano
Cosimo Lampis - drums, percussion, vocals
Werner Fröhlich - bass, vocals

CONDITION: The Cover: fragile and delicate the mostly dark cover is NEVER found without some shelf wear...this copy is WAY better than the few we've spotted, having just very slight shelf wear, VG++ and not pronounced, so while in the outer protective plastic cover it looks better than our grade ... no split seams, no bends, no writing and no tears ...top cover for this title, even though it's not mint.
The Vinyl: all very clean over both sides retaining the original shiny luster, "EX" (excellent) to M- and play beautiful....clean FROG labels to makes this package a must...
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
