Arturo Vega, one of the most influential visual artists in punk rock — as the designer of the Ramones iconic and much-copied logo, and artistic director for the band for their entire history

Poster Description: This is an original, vintage Ramones poster, designed by Arturo Vega, circa mid-1970's. The exact same poster was recently featured prominently on display at the RAMONES Museum Exhibition in Los Angeles.

I acquired this mega rare poster from James Aquafredda, who himself worked for the Ramones, and it was given to him by Arturo Vega back in the late seventies. A hand-written note on original Ramones logo letterhead signed by James – is attached to the back of the frame! An absolutely must have piece of memorabilia for the Ramones collectors out there!

Condition: Good. Crease on corner. Edges frayed. Faded slightly from time. Was folded and put away and it has 7 creases from 7 folds. 

Arturo Vega and the Making of the Logo Heard Round the World: "The band took off and the Ramones were signed to a deal within a year. Bigger shows were booked, and Vega, who was constantly on the lookout for words and symbols for inspiration, began pulling from some unlikely sources. He found a cool looking eagle on a belt buckle and took pictures of himself wearing it in a photo booth in Times Square.
