ORIGINAL BATTERSEA HEROES OZ ROCKABILLY=ROCK’N’ROLL WITH
This band were a well established Oz rock outfit in the early seventies sharing the stage at festivals with the likes of Tully etc. Some of these guys graduated from the jug band of the same name which may lead you to think this is acoustic jug music-it isn’t. (San Francisco Bay Blues is a bit towards jug tho) The presence of Col Nolan listed in the liner notes might further suggest there’s a nod towards jazz- again, not so. Almost all of the trax are 100 mph electric rockabilly/boogie. A fair percentage of them are original compositions. I don’t think there were too many (if any) other LP releases on this label. Condition –wise, it would be nigh on impossible to get a better copy. Top shelf and rarely seen early 70’s Oz rock.
