Here is an opportunity to own one of the holy grails of record collecting. An ORIGINAL Memphis pressed copy of Elvis Presley's "Baby Let's Play House" and "I'm Left, Youre Right, She's Gone" which he recorded in early 1955 and was released in April, 1955. All of Presley's Sun singles were recorded before his contract was sold by Sam Phillips to RCA Victor for a then unprecedented price, and BEFORE he skyrocketed to international fame with "Heartbreak Hotel" in 1956. This particular single was recorded when Presley was performing outdoor concerts on flatbed trucks causing mayhem and chaos.
As mentioned, this is an ORIGINAL, with the three identifying "push marks" on both sides (you may be able to see them on the "I'm Left, Youre Right..." photograph). Etched in the dead wax area are the master numbers U- 142-45 72 (I'm Left...) and U- 143 X-45-2 72 (Baby, Let's Play...) which are absolutely correct for an ORIGINAL. The 72s are approx half an inch from the end of the 5 in the 45. (Again, absolutely correct for an original Elvis Sun).
As can be seen, the centre of the record has at one time been slightly damaged by the insertion of an adaptor, the labels are as you see them, and the vinyl has a fair number of LIGHT scratches, but there are no major defects and the record lies flat. It plays lovely, right through both sides with no skips or jumps with the authentic Sun "hiss" in the background (yet another sign of an original).
Here it is - a piece of historic musical history- the real deal - one of the five Sun discs Elvis recorded with Sun Record Co.s Sam Phillips - the man who "discovered" him. Over the last 30 years they have consistently risen in value.
