Hi All, its been some time since I put a few records up for auction, however, the thinning out of my collection continues and I’ve sorted out a few choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting. OK for your consideration we have:
Title: EMOTIONS by THE PRETTY THINGS
Cat No: TL 5425
Issue: Original 1967 issue on the BLK & SILVER FONTANA Label
Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as EX. The vinyl has retained most of its gloss and is very clean; essentially showing only the minimum of careful handling marks. There are no major marks to the vinyl to report, All in all, a superb copy of this collectable.
Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as EX; almost but not quite totally silent at the run-ins, and between the tracks, however, for completeness there are a few very occasional low level/mild static clicks/pops – but these are hardly detectable even with headphones on. Aside from this, the playback is EX and the music is delivered superbly. The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable.
Label Condition: Ex; just look at the pics. Aside from a few very very light spindle marks there is no damage, writing or unwanted blemishes at all to the labels. The silver script is clean and legible.
Cover Front: The front cover Grades as EX- ; the laminated front is clean and undamaged and has retained its shape very well. The central image is clear and the lamination is excellent and intact. No notable creases/splits etc, just very light and mild aging and some light ring wear when held to the light. A few minor laminate creases/feathering at the edges as you would expect. All edges are secure; overall an excellent example of this sleeve.
Cover Back: VG+; the unlaminated back is in VG+ and nearly EX condition being clean and essentially damage free. I say that as there are a few very mild rubbed areas but mostly minor age related and absolutely nothing too serious at all. All flip-backs secure.
Spine: EX; the spine is intact, clean with good lamination cover. It is however, rounded-off although all the text is very legible and clear. A few cracks in laminate at the spine, but again all very minor.
Corners: VG; mild and gentle knocks but mostly retaining their shape.
Summary: The foundation for SF SORROW was laid here. If you’re a seasoned campaigner you know how difficult it is to find this LP in anything like acceptable condition. Well believe me this is a lovely copy and the best I’ve seen or owned over the years; I’ve owned and cherished this copy for about 6 yrs. Good stuff like this, in this condition doesn’t present itself too often and it’s certainly going to get more difficult in the future. So here’s your chance to grab a very nice copy of this sought after Pretties album. With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
