ORIGINAL HAND SILKCREEN POSTER ARGENT KEVIN AYERS
This rare handsilkscreened Promotional Poster is up for auction here.
It is 30" x 20" , single fold silver & matt black.
In Manchester in the early 1970s we were designing and printing short run (only about 100)posters advertising local concerts at Student Unions and clubs.
These posters were made even rarer because they proved so succesful with the students (who pinched them for their digs as soon as they were put up) that they had to be slashed to ensure they were left up long enough to advertise the gigs.
Over the next few weeks I'll be listing the last few posters surviving in our portfolio from that time.
Artists include Steamhammer with Arc, Argent with Kevin Ayres & The Whole World, Brett Maverick & the Thunderbolts with Desperate Dan, and a Rag Pyjama Dance with Ginger Johnson's Little Free Rock, Brownsville Jug Band, Pyawacket, Saints Jazz Band & Serenaders Steel Band.
