Description
Hi All, the thinning out of my collection continues and I’ve sorted out a few choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting. OK for your consideration we have:
Title: Mr FANTASY by TRAFFIC
Cat No: ILP 961 – rarer mono issue
Issue: Original 1968 issue on the PINK ISLAND Label
Vinyl Condition visual: Visually, the vinyl grades as VG; it has retained some of its gloss and a little of its sheen. The surfaces to both sides are in VG condition with just a few light marks and a few very light scratches, however mostly these are not of the heavy variety, pretty superficial but nonetheless present.
Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as VG; the playback is fab with some occasional audible static clicks and pops in places, mostly at the run-in and between the tracks, although not too bad at all. No skips or jumps and the vinyl lays flat on the turntable. A strong VG.
Label Condition: VG+; fine examples, aside from some very light spindle marks there is no other damage, writing or unwanted blemishes to the labels at all. The text is clear and legible.
Cover Front: The front of this laminated gate-fold sleeve grades as VG. The main issue really being that it is rubbed/bumped along the top and bottom edges and there is a crease to the bottom right corner. No rips or tears just age related marks and a few dings at the opening edge.
Cover Back: VG+; the laminated back is in VG overall, one or two mild creases and ring-wear starting to show, all age related and commensurate with age and grade. Inside the gatefold is clean and the flip-back seams are intact.
Spine: G-; the spine is intact however, it has flattened, easily rectified, all of the text is legible.
Corners: G; some knocks to all corners.
Summary: A fab album and this copy is not too bad at all in terms of a package. I would say that the disc is a little better presented than the cover. But as many of you know, for some reason finding this album in anything like decent condition is a challenge. Therefore if you need a copy of this classic album in your collection, this copy will fill a gap until you can locate a better one. It is a very playable and enjoyable copy that has been honestly graded overall as VG.
Postage: With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
