Seventies classic political thriller directed by Damiano Damiani.

Damian environmental Palermo to treat the story explicitly with a subject that was very important: the links between institutions and the Mafia in southern Italy. As in other films of the genre, including many of the same Damiani, we talk about conspiracies enacted by the state institutions with some unspecified occult powers, in this case the social report focuses explicitly the target of Damiani. "Confessions of a Police Captain" is one of the first films about the Mafia occurrence in the fight which is hopeless, Because "the polyp's feeler" reaches everything and everybody. A police inspector and deputy public prosecutor try to test that the architect in the city is in the Mafia. Even the characters of the story are the classics of the genre: Commissioner brave and executioner, the more conservative judge who wants to remain within the law not to risk too much on his skin, the mafia-linked builder (Luciano Catenacci is always perfect in roles like this).

Also there are many references to events that serve to better frame the story and also to those sadly witnessed the murder of the child, the killing of honest trade unionist, the interrogation of the insane in an insane asylum, and so on. Especially the last tragic scene with the murder of the Commissioner by Mafia gunmen introduced in jail.

 Ultimately, “Confessions of a Police Captain “is to be recommended to all lovers of the film involved, and especially in the middle of that line between crime, thriller and drama (with large color tints policies) that made the fortune many - and brave - Italian filmmakers in the seventies.

Jacket :    EX  

Strong cardboard cover, in EX condition, with seams and spine in excellent condition, corners with moderate wear and little bumps on upper left and lower left corner. NO ring wear on both sides but some light rusty little spots along upper seam, in between "RCA" and "original cast" lettering.

Overall a very smooth surface, with NO cuts, NO tears, NO discoloration. Please, look at my cover scan.

Vinyl :   NM 

The shiny vinyl looks pristine, possible unplayed, without any defect visible under a strong lamp.  

Catalogue/Label :

LP RCA CR-10071 stereo, °1987 Japanese de-luxe reissue. Orange labels with black lettering are in NM condition and show no sign around the spindle hole. Please, look at my label scans. 

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light. 

        NM  (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX   (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG  Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues. 

VG+ Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
