Description
London Records stereo four disc boxed set OSA 1401, black wideband FFSS label, made in England. Blueback box. All four discs are the earliest flat edged "pancake" pressings. Stampers are 1E 1K 1K 1K 1K 1E 1K 1K.
Mozart, Don Giovanni, with a cast that includes Cesare Siepi, Fernando Corena, Hilde Gueden, Lisa Della Casa and Walter Berry. Josef Krips conducts the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Chorus. Kleiber's only stereo recording. See pics for complete cast and program details.
A nice copy of this reference recording. Other than the labels, no difference between this and the very rare and expensive Decca issue on SXL 2117-20.
Discs NM, blueback box VG++, only a piece of tape on the front of the box which can probably be removed, with some care. Libretto included.
A great copy of the very earliest issue of this legendary recording.
