Absolute original pressing.

Discovered among many other vintage 1960’s issues in a former DJ’s extensive collection of promos and obscurities. This is the third copy I’ve found...the other two have sold.

 

 

Very clean labels.

 “So in Luv” vinyl appears barely played, and plays just beautifully, close to Near Mint EXCEPT for about one second of hissy groove distortion ending in a loud “pop”, the result of a two-inch long scratch along/in the groove about 20 seconds into the song.

The side played through without mis-tracking on one turntable (a Denon DP-1200 with a stock curved tonearm and Signet cartridge), but mis-tracked/skipped on another more “audiophile” player with a lighter, straight tonearm with low tracking force and a similar cartridge. Most DJ rigs should play the song fine, though they may require a tracking weight adjustment. To repeat: The surface noise only lasts about one second (in the 2nd line of the vocals at the “whenever” in “...whenever I’m sad and blue...”). Just please bear this issue in mind.

Again: The side is otherwise very nice and plays superb...any other minor marks have no bearing on playback.

 

Update: I just played this side on the aforementioned Denon using a Stanton 681 EEE cartridge, and it also successfully played through the one second of noise without mistracking.

 

 

“Come On Home” side is also barely played, but grades VG for  a few minor “ticks” at the beginning and a few very brief sibilant distortions...still enjoyable. It’s an excellent deep soul slow tune...but not the major appeal here.
