Description
A very scarce sealed copy of the Otis Redding/Jimi Hendrix Experience album generally referred to as “Monterey Pop”. Issued in 1970, this album features a side each of Hendrix and Redding at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, both performing at the absolute peak of their powers. For some reason, this album was released with two covers; the scarce one listed here, with artwork from the Festival poster, and another with a collage of photographs of both artists against a grey background. This cover was almost immediately discontinued, while the collage cover was used for subsequent pressings.
This copy is in extraordinary condition, with beautiful square corners and fully intact shrink wrap, other than a tiny breach in one corner. With original price sticker on the back from West Coast record store chain ‘The Wherehouse’. As nice as you could ever hope to find.
We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked.
Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
