Ouba sounds like something off the German Krautrock scene, perhaps Can without the structural discipline or the wealth of ideas.....but it's exactly that lack of discipline, more than anything, that's the recording's genesis.

A1 Freak Out Total, as the title alone implies, was an off-the-cuff, in-studio, freak-out jam, a vamp on certain riffs and (especially) rhythms to which the music frequently returns like organizational motifs, rather than anything remotely resembling songs.     On top of that, the four culprits (all friends and outstanding instrumentalists but all members of different combos on the Quebec, Montreal rock scene) were admittedly stoned on various illicit substances when the music was set down.
(The four banditos also subsquently recorded the equally weird (and equally rare) Reels Psychadeliques Vol 1 & Vol 2,  also on the Freak Out Total badge (see our other listings).

Recorded in Montreal, Canada in early 1968.....with Tony Roman (vocals). Denis LePage (vocals, organ); Michel Pagliaro (guitar) and Andy Shorter (drums).

Vinyl (some light superficial sleeve scuffs & hairlines, light noise on 1st few seconds of lead-in)...VG++

Cover (solid....nice seams & spine, absolutely no splits markings or cut-outs,  normal light shelfwear)...VG++
