Description

OWEN GRAY - " CUPID ", Melodisc Records Ltd. (SMLP 12/153) 1969.

Very rare 1969, UK pressed reggae LP by Owen Gray featuring his hit cover of Sam Cooke's "Cupid".

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

VINYL =  V.G. (Looking at the vinyl, particularly under a lamp, it is covered with quite a lot of surface scrapes, scuffs and scratches... admittedly all shallow, but plenty of them. Bizarrely, it plays way better than it looks.... On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks. However, once the music gets going, it plays well - generally free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, surface noise, etc. It's not exactly hi-fi recording or pressing in the first place, but still a good honest listen and it actually plays a lot better than many brand new reggae records I have bought over the last few years. Overall, although it is not quite perfect, it is by no means ruined by these (mostly visual) imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy (those searching for a museum piece would probably be best off avoiding this particular example though).

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = V.G. (No rips, tears, massive creases, defacing, etc. Not destroyed but suffers a lot of lighter creaes in the laminate and the back's quite grubby - see photos for further clarification

NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.

ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET IN TOUCH!
