THE OXFORD CIRCUS-45-“4th Street Carnival” b/w “Tracy”-Zig Zag Records # ZZ-101-KillerKool Cryptic 1967 Houston TEXAS Garage-Punk...Great track...in the tradition of OEDIPUS & THE MOTHERS, 9TH STREET BRIDGE, and SOCIETY , somewhat cryptic and tortured lead vocal, fuzz guitar dominated with trippy lyrics and a great and primitive lead guitar break. Ultra KillerKool...B side is an errie ballad, not bad, but a ballad no less....Great band and single...very scarce as you know...have only run across 2 of these in the past 35 years... Condition: Record is G+, possibly better, some surface scuffs, slight scrapes, a few surface scratches, also a very slight small warp, and NOTE: has a hairline crack that is along the inner tailout by the label that extends about 1/4 inch into end grooves, then 3/4 inch into the end grooves on other side, approximately close to 4 inches total, could pass as a light scratch as it is not noticeable unless you ‘stress’ the vinyl (DON’T!!!) in certain light angles, and then you notice...I noticed totally by accident....had no idea all these years; thought it was a light scratch...despite all this the record plays great and actually looks decent...plays fine with some obvious background noise at times, especially on the balladesque ‘Tracy’ side... Label clean both sides...
