Description

Wally Fowler & Oak Ridge Quartet One sided 12" metal acetate 78 Crying In The Chapel  Blank Label Recorded on 8/19/1953 for 4 Star, and leased to Gospeltone for a limited release. Excellent remake of the Darrell Glenn original, which came out around the same time as The Orioles, and later covered by Elvis Presley.
In matrix of acetate and on the old sleeve is 4* OP-257, and center of acetate has 8-27-53.
The playing grooves which start 1/3 into the record seem to be in Mint- condition. A lot of edge flaking around the acetate.
This 78 must have stood in 4 Star studio warehouse for over 70 years.
