Description
Odessey and Oracle, The Zombies. LP first press (deadwax codes suggest first matrix and stamper, pressed on the first day of manufacture). "Demonstration Record / Not for Sale" stamped on the back cover. I received this album after playing for a TV station's "local talent" show in 1968 and it's been in my collection ever since. The labels and vinyl are a clear near mint, showing only the slightest of "spider lines" and hairline surface blemishes which do not affect play in any way. The sound is still crisp and clean with minimal surface noise and without any clicks or pops. The scans of the cover are Photoshop image blends, to try to give as accurate an image as possible with an 8.5x11 scanner bed. This is an extremely difficult album to obtain, as initial sales were quite low. As "Time of the Season" gained popularity in subsequent years, many different reissues appeared until this album became an icon of the psychedelic sixties and highly desirable. This is an extremely rare LP and has all the marks of the original first press copy in exceptional condition.
