Description
This is part of a large auction featuring R&B, doo-wop and blues singles from several small independent labels of the 1950's/early 60's.

Release: Screamin' Jay Hawkins – Frenzy / Person To Person
Format: 45 rpm 7" single
Year: 1957
Notes: Purple label first pressing. Early-ish single by this entertaining and highly underrated artist out of Cleveland who often used skulls and coffins as stage props. A-side has a great guitar intro and Hawkins' classic vocal stylings. B-side is more of a slower, blues track. Both are excellent.
Vinyl Condition: VG+, Vinyl itself is in great shape with basically no wear, just one small hairline on Who Knows. It plays well and sounds great with no skips/ticks/bumps, hardly any background noise at all. Play grade is solidly VG+. Labels have some circular scuffing/surface tearing, likely due to moisture/humidity exposure. I'm going to call this VG+ but please look as you might bump it down due to label cosmetics.
Sleeve Condition: VG, outer sleeve is blank, but I believe original. Has some minor wrinkling and a small pencil number. No tears/splits/writing.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. Check back in late-January for a rock 'n roll/rockabilly auction and a very cool selection of 78's after that.
