Description
This is 1920s 78RPM record with the KU KU (The Klucking of the Ku Klux Klan) by Billy Frisch and "A Trip to Hitland" company (Side A) and the Markels Orchestra (Side B).
This is a very scarce original period recording published by the Okeh record company and copyrighted 27 May 1923, pressed by the General Phonograph Corporation, New York. The music is arranged as a Foxtrot. Arrangers are identified by initials only (E.R. -- B.G. -- B.F.). Part of the lyrics are quoted below:
They call 'round in their nighties and if you're not your best
They'll dress you like a chicken and put feathers on your chest....
Don't drink your wine and don't drink homemade beer
If you do, you're surely goin' to hear,
If you really want to disappear
Beat your wife
And you will surely hear the klucking of the Ku Klux Klan.
It measures 10 inches in diameter. There is no sleeve or jacket present.
