Comments: His 3rd 45 was his first using the name for which he became known, J.J. Cale. It was also the first of three on Liberty. As you can see it was arranged and co-produced by fellow Oklahomian Leon Russell, for whose label “Shelter” he would later turn out his most prolific output in the early/mid 1970’s. A-side is chugging up-tempo tune about the hero of Precinct 2. B-side is a shade slower, leaning more on the back-beat, turning it into danceable track.
