This LP is a UK pressing from 1971 condition of the vinyl would grade as NEAR MINT no sign of wear at all to be seen. Also includes the lyric insert which is in perfect condition as well sleeve also in great shape.
Oliver in the Overworld was a weekly fantasy series featured in kids' programme Little Big Time in the late 1960s/early 1970s. It featured Freddie Garrity of Freddie and the Dreamers as himself and Peter Birrell as Oliver the Clock (Birrell was one of the Dreamers).
Oliver has lost his memory and needs to go to the Overworld to get a new one. The LP features the song of the Hungry Drains along with other bits of machinery and the lovely Overworld theme tune. The whole story was set in the Overworld where the clockwork king ruled. You really have to be a child of the sixties to appreciate it!
The LP has some nice pictures of the series on the cover and I believe all of the programme's tapes have been erased so this is all that's left of my Overworld memories! The pictures are of Windy Bill, the Deferential Gearbox, the Chief High Pipe (a hungry drain), Freddie, Oliver, Princess Necessity, the Belle Telephones, the Waste Disposal Unit, the Mighty Dictaphone & Grim Gramophone and the Clockwork KIng.
This vinyl LP has songs from the show, written by Albert Hammond and produced by Mike Hazelwood. There are two versions of this LP but I only have this one. It is a very rare thing. The record is in very good condition and comes with a songsheet with all the words to the tunes and a plastic protection sleeve. It will be well packed.
