Oliver Nelson with Eric Dolphy Straight Ahead mono New Jazz 8255 purple label deep groove
Eric Dolphy (as, fl, b cl) Oliver Nelson (ts, as, cl), Richard Wyands (p), George Duvivier (b), Roy Haynes (d) Recorded 1961
Purple label and deep groove both sides. RVG in the run outs on both sides. Bergenfield address on back.
The record looks VG and plays VG. Both sides have scuffs and small scratches. Side 1 has scuffs and app 10 -12 hairline scratches. Side 2 is about the same. Music plays strong and enjoyably without distortion over some light ticking occasionally and moderate surface noise audible on quiet parts. Spindle marks on labels both sides .
The cover is VG.
The front cover has moderate wear with a strip of slick missing app 4 inches at the bottom near the spine and a few other small pieces missing at the pocket. The back cover has heavy wear, ring wear and staining. No split seams. Bottom seam is so heavily worn 1 inch at the spine that the slick is gone. Spots of wear at all the corners. Spine is readable and intact.
Black lines that might be visible at bottom left and top right in pictures are due to photo cropping and not on record.
I WILL NOT END AUCTIONS EARLY. PLEASE DO NOT ASK.
