Description
Up for bid is a rare mono white label promo LP, "Blues and the Abstract Truth," featuring Oliver Nelson, Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, George Barrow, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, and Roy Haynes. This was released by Impulse (A-5). LP is VG++, with a couple of light scuffs on either side. Interior labels are very clean. Matrix info reads (etched) A5-A with RVG stamped / A-5 B with RVG stamped. LP appears clean and retains a nice gloss. LP plays with light surface noise (light crackle and a few pops) - with no skips, sounds fantastic! A professional clean may reduce the surface noise present. Jacket is VG+, with about 1/4 of the bottom seam split (from the front bottom right corner toward the spine). There are also several small splits along the top seam. There is a small split that starts at the top right corner and travels toward the spine about 1/2 inch. There is a small split that starts at the top left corner and travels toward the mouth about 1/2 inch. There is another 1/2 inch split about an inch away from the split that starts at the top left corner. There is wear on all corners and seams. There is ring wear, scuffing, and small spots of discoloration on the front and back of the jacket (see pictures). A previous owner has written his name on the front of the jacket in the top right corner (see pictures). Jacket retains a nice gloss. This scarce LP would be a great addition to a jazz collection! Don't miss this rare gem! We will pack this securely for safe delivery - this will be a little heavy due to the inserts we put in the LP mailer. Domestic delivery will be via USPS media mail including a tracking number. International delivery is First Class International.
