*Because our clients are mostly jazz collectors and connoisseurs, as we are, we made it our policy to only sell vinyl that we grade in VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) condition or better. This vinyl is in our opinion a VG+, looks and plays great.

Record Grade VG+ = Very well maintained. Just listened to both sides of the whole album and it plays beautiful. It is from our personal collection. Little to no surface noise at all. A few surface scratches that have no effect on music. Difficult to find this rare vintage mono recording in such nice condition. (see pictures)

Jacket Grade VG+ = Shiny, clean, well maintained. No staining. No writing. No tape, no seem splits. Minor corner dents from regular shelf use. A very clean jacket for a 55 year old album. (see pictures)

The Blues and the Abstract Truth is a jazz album by American jazz saxophonist Oliver Nelson recorded in February 1961. It remains Nelson's most acclaimed album and features a lineup of notable musicians: Freddie Hubbard, Eric Dolphy, Bill Evanshis, Paul Chambers and Roy Haynes. Baritone saxophonist George Barrow does not take solos, but still remains a key feature in the subtle voicings of Nelson's arrangements.
