CONDITION DETAILS Vinyl plays with crackles and occasional clicks and pops (play-graded). Embossed gate-fold cover looks good; creases near edges; light-scuffing, a few surface abrasions (including a noticeable tear near center on back), and surface impressions (front/back). Inner-gate has light scuffing. Inner-sleeve is original (photos/lyrics/credits). Spine somewhat readable, with noticeable wear, especially near top. Significant shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of some use. Maroon and purple label. (Not a cut-out.)

ABOUT THE RECORD Xanadu, the soundtrack of the musical film of the same name, featuring the Australian singer Olivia Newton-John and the British group Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) was a worldwide success and received positive reviews from music critics. The original LP release featured, on side one, the songs of Newton-John, and, on side two, the songs of ELO. The Newton-John side also features Cliff Richard, The Tubes and Gene Kelly. The hit singles were Magic (No. 1 US and UK) and Xanadu (No. 8 US, No. 1 UK). Both singles also went to No. 1 in the Netherlands and Italy. At the time of the album's release, Olivia Newton-John was signed to MCA Records, while ELO were signed to Jet Records. A compromise was worked out between the two companies in that the album was released on MCA in the US and Canada, and on Jet in the rest of the world.
