Description

Ollie Nightingale (Ollie Hoskins) formerly front man with the Dixie Nightingales who became Ollie & The Nightingales, he left the group in 1970 to go solo this single was his second release on the Memphis label in June, 1971 recorded at Universal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Ollie hailed his craft from the church singing gospel leading to Soul and Blues and R & B. "I Don`t Know Why I Love You" written by Gene Miller and Ollie Nightingale - produced and Arranged by Gene "Bowlegs" Miller 2:30 minutes  / " I`ll Take Care Of You" written by Brook Benton 3:30 minutes 45 - 105. The two tracks display Ollie`s soulful and introspective songs that showcases what a quality singing artist he really was with the ability to display a smooth crooning style with so much emotion in his delivery. Ollie performed "I Don`t Know Why I Love You" at the Apollo Theatre in New York City leaving the audience in complete awe at his powerful and soulful delivery. The record is in Very Good + condition as can be observed on the images attached on both sides. A copy recently sold for £90.
