Description
This is believed to be a re-issue of "Al-Atlal" ("The Ruins"), a poem by the Egyptian poet Ibrahim Naji set to music by fellow Egyptian composer Reyad Al-Sinbaty and originally released on the Sono Cairo label in 1966 (Arab Tunes was an American label specializing in Arab music). Om Kalsoum, the vocalist and also Egyptian, was arguably that country's greatest singer, whose fame quickly spread throughout the Arab world mid-last century and to the West - none other than Bob Dylan and Bono were said to be her admirers. Several video clips of her performances can be found on YouTube. This one is about 50 minutes long.
Outer sleeve has light ring wear on the front, minor fraying along the edges, and light discoloration on the back. Vinyl has only a few light scratches and scuffs. Shipping is free in the U.S., and will be by media mail, which typically takes a few days longer than first class.
