One of a Kind, three piece set, 78 rpm World War 2 Homeland War Effort Support
These discs were recorded on "RECORDISC" "Instantaneous recording blanks", one of the earliest forms of audio recording available to consumers. However, the lathes (recording machines) required to make your own 78 rpm records from blanks were not cheap and were not found in many US households. These RECORDISCs are original, their labels are absolutely correct for the period.
It is extremely likely that this is the ONLY set of this recording to survive over the years, however I cannot guarantee that. But, I am 99.99999% sure you and I will never see another copy of this set for sale anywhere in our lifetime.
This recording of the "Marching" spans all three discs and is a narrated radio broadcast wherein the narrator helps the main character, Mr. Doubledog, understand the contribution that our school children could and were making towards the war effort. The content includes, discussions between the narrator and Mr. Doubledog, instrumentals,songs, short stories, a poem and even advertisements.
On a personal note, after finally listening to this complete set myself, including the credits at the end, I now know for sure how this came to be in our family collection. Mr. Doubledog was played by my grandfather!!
