Description
For sale here is Opeth's album 'Ghost Reveries', pressed by Roadrunner/Cargo Records on 2LP, 180gm GOLD Vinyl (2013 re-issue). This record was purchased by myself from new and played through once to make sure of the quality. Had a bit of an 'impulse' purchase when buying this as I already own the original 2005 press. Was hoping this would be a gatefold sleeve and show more artwork than the original but it's not, so I've decided to sell.
This re-issue is limited to 300 copies worldwide and is now sold out.
Condition:
The sleeve and both inner sleeves are in excellent condition. The cover still has the cellophane wrapper on for protection, I just slit the opening side for access. There are some minor markings on the sleeve, a crease at the bottom and a small ding to a corner but nothing major, no splits or tears. The inners are really thin (almost like paper!) so they do have some minor marks and one has the start of a seam split at the bottom (it's not a complete hole, thankfully). I have placed the records in poly sleeves so the inners won't get worn out/damaged. The records themselves are not the greatest I've puchased. They both have minor marks in places and some scratches from manufacturing (how, I don't know). The worst of it is on side A, during Ghost Reveries which has quite a few marks on the surface if you shine it in a certain angle. The records play really well with only minor surface noise (nothing unusual). The only real issues I picked up upon playback was during the first 5 or so minutes of Side A (during the title track), which has some louder pops/clicks in places (I am assuming down to the marks on the surface) but no skipping at all (at least on my Linn Sondek LP12 TT, Linn Adikt cart). There are a few pops during the 'reverie' part at the end of Side B too. Other than that, I didn't notice any other issues. To confirm, I have only played through the 2 LP's the one time, to test for any issues, which I have noted above. Both records have been played in poly sleeves for protection and when shipped will be placed outside the sleeve to prevent seam splits.
This re-issue also includes a fold out poster which is as new.
I store all my records upright and in poly sleeves for protection and it will be sold with those sleeves included.
