Original vintage longplay vinyl record album.

Weirdo music to appeal to fans of ISM (Incredibly Strange Music), oddball lounge, and Dr. Demento. This Lp is on the same label as the odd Jeff Gray album, and the Strepthroat - A Sock Hopera Lp (by the same folks as this release, and currently included in a separate listing).

Liner notes by Tom Barberi (long-time Utah radio disc-jockey and trouble-maker).

From the liner notes: "The Ophir State Marching Band was originated to get back at the Julliard School of Music, by John Phillips Bucknell, for throwing him out, in 1923. The original band was made up of four people armed with two triangles, a wood block, and an air horn off a 1917 Fragil truck...This music should be rated "GP" for Gross Production and is not recommended for youngsters under the age of 37...In all my years of broadcasting and playing records, I can honestly say that I have never heard - or experienced - such a blend of sounds. The unique things the O. S. M. B. has done to musical compositions is not so much innovative as intolerable...I get calls from listeners who report that after hearing O. S. M. B. on the radio, wonderful things happened. Mrs. D. Horn of Yaka Flats, Ontario, said that after hearing the O. S. M. B., the aphids on her Tuberous Begonia committed suicide. Mr. N. Ema of Riverton wrote in to say, "Knock that *!*!* off." Mr. Morse of Dung, Colorado, said that his prize pig's acne cleared up. The list of accolades goes on and on..."

Condition: Plays well. Visually, vinyl glossy vg+. Jacket ex (The uncoated paper used for the cover slicks could easily show wear, but on this copy, the slicks look like new, and present well. The jacket itself has one slightly stubbed corner, and minor dings on edges). See photos. Obtained from the original owner.
