A crazy cool one here, but please read the whole description!!
True original Senegal pressing of the highly sought-after afrobeat/funk/folk firecracker. I'm usually hesitant to talk about grading on a curve, but this is a West African record and they've been through a lot. The disc is rough, but still has some life in it. Covered is scratches and scuffs, but a lot of the really harsh marks are generally on the first half of each side of the record. The great news is that "Kelen Ati Len" plays much better than the earlier tracks on the side and is a solid G+. There are some hazing marks, but they generally don't affect play, and even when they are faintly audible, it's way below the music. The deep scratches are definitely the main culprit. The very last track on side B even plays VG or so. Generally, playback varies greatly throughout the record, so I'll grade is G just to be sure.
If you know you know: play it on heavy tracking weight with a heavy duty DJ stylus to get the most out of it. On a delicate stylus it is possible that there will be a couple of skips, but it played through for me on an Ortofon Concorde mk II with low anti-skate setting.
Jacket is in very solid shape for the type of record. Spine is pretty much fully chipped off and split. Top seam has a shorter split towards the opening. Bottom seam pretty much still intact. Cover presents well. a VG- for an african record. G+ for the listing.
