Description
An important and scarce document (Advent 5011, released in 1974) of a major organist. Michael Murray, the well-known American concert organist who was one of Dupre’s last pupils, recorded this interview at Dupre’s home in 1969, when Dupre was 83 years old. The left channel carries Dupre’s original French, the right channel has Murray’s simultaneous translation, so use of the balance control can give you whatever presentation you prefer. The second side is filled out with four brief improvisations by Dupre recorded by Murray at Saint-Sulpice on Sunday, July 20, 1969, of limited fidelity but considerable interest as documents of how Dupre accompanied the Mass. Jacket reads “Advent,” record label is “Telarc” with Advent 5011 catalog number. Both jacket and record NM Record will be shipped by media mail or priority mail for US shipments as buyer prefers, by first class international (air) for foreign shipments. (The U.S. post office has discontinued the old “economy letter” surface rate). Multiple purchases gladly combined for reduced shipping cost – request total at conclusion of auctions. PayPal except for any items picked up by buyer.
