Description
Original 2x one sided LP White label Columbia test pressings dated 21-12-53. Condition is Good+/VG with a number of marks and scratches. Play without issue but crackly. Could do with a good professional clean. Very rare. EX BBC Radio Library copies.
Album is Igor Oistrakh (legendary violinist) with the Philharmonia Orchestra Conducted by Eugene Goossens. Khachaturian Violin Concerto. Side1 (disc1) is 1st Movement (matrix XAX-448-1N) and Side 2 (Disc 2) is 2nd and 3rd movements (matrix XAX -449-1N). Both reverse sides are blank and just play a tone signal. Version one with G stampers. Columbia/EMI 1950s grooved pressings on white Columbia test press labels and typed stickers with track/artist information. In white inner sleeves no covers as with all test pressings.
Released in 1953/52 as Columbia 33CX1141 - no stereo issue.
Despite condition really rare items and impossible to find. Lovely for the true collector. Can be played by as I say rather crackly. However, more about rarity of the item than play value. Cheap start price!
