Description
Here is a RARE jazz lp from my collection offered up for sale: Released in 1960 by Chess Records, 1445 (mono), this is a first pressing with radio station DJ white promotional Chess labels, cover with DJ stamp.
This is super cool swing style Jazz released by Chess, a Chicago Blues label, featuring saxophone greats Gene Ammons ("Jug") and Sonny Stitt, recorded circa 1950 - 1951, described as jazz with the soul and "feeling and sound of Blues".
The rigid record rates VG+, is glossy and clean, has some faint sleeve marks, has a few light marks, nothing heavy, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays from start to finish with excellent sound quality!
The cover rates VG+, has deep color, edges and corners have a bit of wear to color but all are solid, no splits, no tape, binder edge is EX and readable, no signatures or writing, the back has some light stains and ringwear, front has a linear stain (somewhat unnoticeable) and small rub to slick in a couple of spots, still a decent 55 year old cover after all these years (see all photos).
