Original 1966 45 from legendary California garage combo. A 2-sided garage masterpiece, of course, featured on many, many comps, including Pebbles, Off The Wall, Hang It Out To Dry, and so on. Vinyl is unbelievably beautiful, virtually unplayed, kept in storage for 40+ years. Here's the scoop on this single, & a few others I'll be listing in the next couple of days: this came from the estate of a 90+ year old woman, renowned for her 'pack rat' ways. In the late '60s/early '70s, discount stores (like Walgreens, Woolworths, etc) would sell cutout singles by the sealed, bundled package, usually of 10 or 20 count, if memory serves. They would put a 45 that charted on the outside of the pack on both sides, to make the buyer think they were getting all records they knew from the radio. But then they usually stuck non-charting singles inside, unbeknownst to the (invariably disappointed teenage) buyer. Well, found amongst this abovementioned 'pack rat's' estate were 3 of these bundled 7" packs - so that's why I feel safe to use the word unplayed. (Except I spotchecked both sides, to make sure it wasn't off center or had any other flaws - so, technically, I guess I'm a liar...) Anyhow, it's seriously doubtful that a nicer copy of this exists.
