Well okay, then, and the reason:
Muddy Waters' "Hard Again," ~ his youthful "comeback" album recorded when he was at the ripe young age of 62.  This carefully focused project, produced by Johnny Winter, a long-time admirer of Waters, is impeccably recorded.  Willy "Big Eyes" Smith's drums and James Cotton's harmonica add even more life to Waters' well-worn, bluesy vocals.  Furthermore, Winter, the guitar impresario, keeps in the background, his leads often sounding like they were recorded in another room entirely.  The album opens up with yet another version of "Mannish Boy."  But don't let the dismissive tone of the previous sentence fool you.  This is easily the definitive performance of the legendary Bo Diddley composition, with an older, wiser, hornier Muddy Waters--along with his great backing band, consisting of black and white musicians--delivers a raucous, unabashedly sexual and absolutely infectious.
Tracks like "I Want to Be Loved" and the funky "Deep Down in Florida" are impressive enough to transcend the form.  The Lp is strong enough for even someone who is not exactly an aficionado of blues, this is one that is highly worthy in effort to keep coming back to. .....
