We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Approx 55 year old BLACK/SILVER PARLOPHONE 1963 South Africa collectible (with "flapback" seams) ... as thrashed as copies are likely to be at this point in time - here's a still collectible survivor, plays with excellent audio. Beatles records didn't just sit around - they were played to death. With that, getting an enjoyable South African listening platter (pressed from the British metal masters) with black/silver labels is way-harder to find than one might imagine ... the historic FIRST Beatles album, and Beatlemania exploded around the globe...

In 1963 four lads from Liverpool, UK recorded an album at Abbey Rd which changed pop history...gone were professional song writers who sat in office`s writing nice middle class boy meet girl 3 minute singles... THE BEATLES wrote played and sang working class rough and ready rock n roll ... this small ripple soon became a tidal wave around the world. Once their first 45 "Please Please Me" rocketed to number one, the Beatles rushed to deliver a debut album, bashing out it out in a day. 47 years after its release, the album still sounds fresh, precisely because of its intense origins. As the songs rush past, it's easy to get wrapped up in the sound of the record itself without realizing how the album effectively summarizes the band's eclectic influences. Naturally, the influences shine through their covers, all of which are unconventional and illustrate the group's superior taste. There's a love of girl groups, vocal harmonies, sophisticated popcraft, R&B and hard-driving rock & roll, which is enough to make Please Please Me impressive, but what makes it astonishing is how these elements converge in the originals. "I Saw Here Standing There" is one of their best rockers, yet it has surprising harmonies and melodic progressions. "Misery" and "There's a Place" grow out of the girl group tradition without being tied to it. A few of their originals, such as "Do You Want to Know a Secret" and the pleasantly light "PS I Love You," have dated slightly, but endearingly so, since they're infused with cheerful innocence and enthusiasm. And there is an innocence to Please Please Me. The Beatles may have played notoriously rough dives in Hamburg, but the only way you could tell that on their first album was how the constant gigging turned the group into a tight, professional band that could run through their set list at the drop of a hat with boundless energy. It's no surprise that Lennon had shouted himself hoarse by the end of the session, barely getting through "Twist and Shout," the most famous single-take in rock history. He simply got caught up in the music, just like generations of listeners did...

CONDITION: The cover: rated: collectible "VG" front cover (repaired cover tear at pocket) / VG back cover (name x 2 on back cover.) Laminated front is generally clean otherwise with handling wear around the edges. Back cover has visual wear as well plus names on cover (2) to the white non-lamination surface. Downgraded for previous handling as such , the cover being so thin/delicate. There are still strong colors, no delete marks...and of course comes with the old style "flapback seams" for the ages old 1963 production Mega-rare collection worthy copy ...
The vinyl: Rated: pretty clean ; rated "EX" (excellent) side two has 3 visible scuffs, so plays extremely strong with excellent audio throughout both sides... overall nice listen to the whole historic background concerning Beatlemania and the springboard to what evolved... both black/silver =mono= Parlophone labels have clean labels, with a small tear on side 2 label (see photo.).
Very little notice of spindle marks
