BLUE NOTE BLP-4179 "IT'S TIME!"  JACKIE McLEAN

  Original Pressing JACKIE McLEAN LP  on BLUE NOTE w/  Deep Groove

This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, blue on white, "NEW YORK, USA address label, Blue Note Records, 1964 release of "IT'S TIME!" BLP-4157, by JACKIE McLEAN, complete with "VAN GELDER" and the "EAR" symbol on the tail-off, and deep grooved label.  The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard.  His quintet features:  CHARLES TOLLIVER - trumpet; JACKIE McLEAN - alto;  HERBIE HANCOCK - piano; CECIL McBEE - bass; and ROY HAYNES - drums.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it a VG++ to MN based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks nearly pristine.  There are practically no visible scratches even from sliding in and out of jacket.  Both sides are visually intact  Minimal spindle marks.  The original jacket has some surface wear and a couple small marks but nothing major.  Some toning to the white, otherwise no writing or dings.  The edges look firm but no seam splits.  Light wear to corners.  Back cover also shows some light surface wear but no writing, stickers, marks or dings.  Overall in pretty nice shape.  Record ships with non-original inner sleeve.  No reserve!
