  Original Pressing WAYNE SHORTER LP  on BLUE NOTE 

This auction is for an original, first pressing, mono, blue on white, "NEW YORK, USA address label, Blue Note Records, 1965 release of "SPEAK NO EVIL" BLP-4194, by WAYNE SHORTER, complete with "VAN GELDER" and the "EAR" symbol on the tail-off.  The original jacket is made of the older "heavier" cardboard.  His quintet features:  FREDDIE HUBBARD - trumpet; WAYNE SHORTER - tenor;  HERBIE HANCOCK - piano; RON CARTER - bass; and ELVIN JONES - drums.

The LP is not play graded but visually I would rate it a NM based on Goldmine standards: Disc has retained nearly all of its original luster and looks very clean.  There are virtually no visible scratches even from sliding in and out of jacket.  There aren't even any visible spindle marks.  The original jacket has some surface wear resulting in a hint of light ring wear.  Otherwise no writing or dings.  There is white tape covering both top and bottom seams showing approx. 1/4" on the front and back (I received the record this way).  A look inside the cover doesn't show any seam splitting;  It might be carefully removed but I will leave that decision to the buyer.  The title edge look firm with no seam splits.  Very light wear to corners.  Back cover also shows very light surface wear, with no writing, marks, dings, or stickers, except a black smudge on upper edge.  Record ships with non-original inner sleeve.  No reserve!
