This is a very rare early DECCA (Race Series) 78 from the 30s. On blue and gold DECCA label #7272. By PEETIE WHEATSTRAW (THE DEVIL'S SON-IN-LAW). Tunes are: BEGGAR MAN BLUES other side FAIRASEE WOMAN (MEMPHIS WOMAN). I listened to this 78, and got excited, because these are 2 great blues songs with slide guitar, and Peetie is one of the best blues singers. Also, the condition of this gem is hard to beat. It came from the collection of a person that worked for Decca. Actually, it was not from him, but from his granddaughter, he passed away. His 78s were nicely stored. This one has near perfect labels with NO spindle marks, all print is sharp and clear. The 2 playing surfaces are in wonderful condition, deep glossy grooves with NO scratches, groove wear, scuffs, cracks, chips, warps, etc. If you search for the best blues tunes, the rarest 78s, in the best CONDITION: NEAR MINT-.
