Original 1964 Jolly What! The Beatles and Frank Ifield on Stage VJLP 1085 lp on Vee Jay records in Stereo! Album in great condition!
Up for auction is a great example of a rare Beatles US LP release. This album, "Jolly What! The Beatles and Frank Ifield on Stage" was released originally on February 26, 1964 and was the the small Soul and R&B label known as Vee Jay records. It was released with the catalog number VJLP 1085 for mono and VJS 1085 for stereo. It would be the first of two releases of this same track list as VJ made a last ditch effort to put out Beatles material before Capitol seized the rights of all things Beatles in the United States. The second release has come to be known as the "Portrait Cover" and is extremely rare. This is an example of the first release and although more common, this variety is still very rare in its own right.
This album, for its age, is in great condition. The cover's colors are nice and bright there are no signs of ring wear on the front or back. The seams are all intact and free of paper loss or tearing. The spine is damage free. There is some wear on the corners but nothing serious. The back of the cover is bright white with no stains and little signs of age. This is a very nice cover. The album is in great condition as well. The all black Vee Jay labels are free of writing or any signs of wear. The record itself plays great with little background noise and no visible scratches. This is a great condition album, especially for 1964.
