Description

This is your chance to own an original 529.305 1969 copy of Daevid Allen's and Gilli Smyth's GONG MAGICK BROTHER vinyl LP on the BYG Records Actuel 5 series label. 

 

Condition is Used. 


This record has been kept in a cool dry cupboard and un-played for well over 40 years having been purchased by me in the 1970s and then carried off to university and subsequent houses in a record box.


I have not played it, to check track quality, as I no longer have a respectable turntable fearing that one of today's modern USB record decks would act more like a plastic milling machine.  My comments below are therefore based on a close visual inspection only.  I have not cleaned the disc.


Disc:

Face 1:

The label is in good condition with only slight, minimal, rubbing to the central spindle hole and no spindle rub marks. 

 

The disc surface is in excellent visual condition with no visible scratches; there is an odd "moire fringe like" feature in the pressing which extends across all tracks, see picture.  There is some slight surface dust and only a few partial fingerprints on the outer run in track.  The Matrix / Runout is engraved BYG 529305A

Face 2:

The label is in good condition with no rubbing to the central spindle hole or spindle rub marks.  


The disc surface is in excellent visual condition with no visible scratches.  There is some surface dust, a few dirt spots dirt spots and a partial fingerprint on track 5.  The Matrix / Runout is engraved BYG 529305B


The photographs hopefully give some idea of the condition of the vinyl disc.  


Sleeve:

The original transparent plastic film sleeve is in good overall condition with only one small 8mm x 5mm tear and no discolouration. 


Cover:

The gatefold cover is in very good condition with no labels, impression marks or writing. The cardboard is smooth, clean and "crisp" with only minimal rubbing and wear to the bottom edges and corners.  


Unfortunately there is a 30mm x15 tear in the rear gloss printed layer where the disc has moved in the sleeve, pushed out the folder spine and broken the print layer which has then become torn and folded back, see photograph.



Please inspect the photographs carefully.


For shipping I will place the record in plastic wrapping and pack in double stiff corrugated packaging.
