Description
The first pressing of the first Jazz record, catalogue number 18255 from Victor Records, released in 17 of May 1917.
The record is in excellent condition . Labels are amazingly well preserved as can be seen in the photos. A great addition to any jazz collection.
This is the Jazz record that, during WW1, made Jazz international as this was the first commercially available Jazz record. This first pressing includes "Dixieland" written on it, contrary to later versions which simply have "Dixie". Another detail is "Livery Stable Blues Composed and played by the Original Dixieland Jass Band" on side B, in which "Composed and played by" was removed from subsequent releases for legal reasons.
